Animal Sounds for Children with Disabilities

This animals sounds app is designed to get children with special need started interacting with external stimuli. This can be used as Augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). The app is aimed at attracting the attention of babies to the animals as well as to their sound and eventually learning how to click on them after watching the parents do it several times. Tips:

  • Practice, practice and practice. Hold the hand or finger of your child and make them do it several times whilte saying the name of the animal, until they get used to the process.
  • Ask the child, where is the cat? or dog ...? and see if they can find the animal themselves, otherwise repeat step one.
  • This app is better displayed on a tablet so that you can touch instead of clicking the mouse.
